The Algonquin Theatre has teamed up with Robin Clipsham of Muskoka Stageworks to offer two exciting new theatre training programs this Fall.
What is acting all about? How do you begin? This course gives you the chance to build your acting skills and advance them through fun, dramatic exercises: active listening, focus, developing characters, and story theatre will all be covered. From team building and improv games, to play-building and character creation, Footprints is all about exploring what it's like to have fun on stage. An end of session showcase will be held to show what we know! Join the fun of imagining, learning, and performing together with new friends who love to act, just like you!!
Tuesdays 4:00 - 5:00 at the Algonquin Theatre October 4,11, 18, 25 and November 1, 8, 22, 29
Develop a knowledge of theatre craft through advanced character, movement and voice work. This performance-oriented class advances your skills in the essentials of acting. Improvisation training, acting workshops, rehearsing scripts, and onstage performance are key steps in your journey to becoming an actor. Scene study and monologue work will be emphasized, along with collaborative (devised) creations exploring social issues. A showcase of the work will be presented at the end of each fall session. Fusion is all about bringing people and skills together in new and exciting ways!
Tuesdays 5:00 - 6:30 pm at the Algonquin Theatre October 4, 11, 18, 25 and November 1, 8, 22, 29
